Police arrest 17-year-old over city centre stabbing

Police make a fourth arrest

Police have arrested a 17-year-old following a stabbing in St Benedict’s Square at the weekend.

The arrest was made on the morning of Wednesday, July 24.

Three people who were previously arrested in connection to the incident have been released on bail.

As reported at the time, officers were called to St Benedict’s Square at 1.58am on July 21, where a man had suffered stab wounds.

Police believe the injuries were caused by a broken bottle.

The victim was taken to Lincoln County Hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening.

Hours before, a man was stabbed on Tower Avenue, The Lincolnite discovered.

Police arrested a 32-year-old man under investigation.

They have since confirmed the two stabbings are not linked. There have been no further arrests or charges.
