Anglian Water worker missing for seven weeks

A 53-year-old man who works for Anglian Water has been missing for around seven weeks.

Michael Smith, also known as Mick, was last seen in the Etton area of Peterborough at around 11.30am on June 11. Although he is based predominantly in the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire area, some of his work may have bordered Lincolnshire.

His friend and colleague Dave Bontoft posted on social media asking for people, especially in Lincolnshire, to “keep their eyes peeled”.

He said: “It goes without saying that his friends and family are going through the ringer at the moment.

“Could I please ask as many friends as possible – especially those in Lincolnshire – to keep their eyes peeled and share this as much as possible on Facebook to get his face out there in the hope of a happy outcome to this situation.”

Anglian Water posted on social media last week saying: “We are all concerned about our colleague Michael Smith who is still missing.”

He is described as white, five foot ten, slim and with short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, jumper and navy work trousers.

Anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts should contact Cambridgeshire Police on 101 quoting incident 452 of June 11.
