Plans for sixth phase of Boston Quadrant submitted

The proposals will also include the completion of the link from the A16 to London Road

An application for 101 houses has been made to Boston Borough Council as developers Chestnut Homes look to move on to the sixth phase of the Quadrant.

The proposals will be accessed from the final section of Pilgrim Way which will complete the link road from the A16 to London Road – planned to form part of the new Boston Distributor Road, which will eventually link the A16 to the north and south through the A1121 Boardsides and A52 to the west.

A spokesman for Chestnut Homes confirmed construction of this section of road has already been approved and is due to begin at the start of September.

When complete, The Quadrant scheme will eventually comprise 500 homes, a series of commercial premises, and a new stadium for Boston United Football Club.

Several stores are being opened on the development, including a Burger King which opened earlier this week, Costa, Greggs and bathroom showroom.

A Travel Lodge Hotel and pub have also been approved on the site.

A spokesman for Boston United confirmed piling work for the community stadium started last week on the North Stand (that closest to Tytton Lane East) and the foundations for the main stand have already been done.

Work has started on Boston United’s new community stadium.

It is hoped steel working will start at the beginning of September, and the East and South stands will follow as the year goes on.

It is hoped Boston United will play its first game at the new stadium in August 2020/21.
