Plan to demolish Gainsborough flats for affordable homes

A new development has been proposed

A plan to demolish 37 flats and maisonettes in Gainsborough to make way for affordable homes has been submitted to West Lindsey District Council.

Leeds based developers, ACIS Group, lodged the proposal which would see the site on Thurlby Road in the town flattened.

As part of the plan, 27 new homes would be built as part of the development.

A total of 14 two-bedroom, 10 three-bedroom and three four-bedroom homes would be built as well as car parking.

The developers said in its plans that the site will provide “a mix of dwellings” and would be “reflective” of the surrounding area.

West Lindsey District Council will make a decision on the plan at a later date.
