Latest flood alerts and weather warnings across Lincolnshire

The Met Office said it may bring disruption from flooding

A Met Office yellow warning for rain is in place in Lincolnshire and flood alerts affecting the county have also been issued.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning, which was put in place at 6am on Thursday, November 7. At the time of writing, it is expected to remain in place until 6am on Friday, November 8.  A flood warning has also been issued for Ruskington Beck by the flood information service.

The prolonged rain through Thursday and overnight into Friday may bring disruption from flooding.

The Met Office has advised to expect the following during the weather warning period:

  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, with a risk that some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible – keep an eye on the relevant operator for any updates on your journey
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life

Flood warnings and alerts

According to the Government’s flood information service, the following flood warnings and alerts are affecting Lincolnshire at the time of writing:

Flood warning

A flood warning has been issued for Ruskington Beck in Ruskington, which means flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

  • East and West Glens
  • Holderness Drain
  • Lower River Derwent
  • Minor Watercourses in North Kesteven
  • Minor Watercourses of South Forty Foot Drain
  • Rase and Upper Ancholme
  • River Maun in Nottinghamshire
  • River Trent Tributaries in Nottinghamshire
  • River Wreake in Leicestershire
  • Welland Valley
  • Witham in South Kesteven

It is also affecting train services, with Northern advising customers not to travel between Sheffield and Lincoln/Gainsborough.
