Police release further details after second fatality on tracks near Grantham

British Transport Police have confirmed that a man in his 30s died on the train tracks near Grantham station on Wednesday.

As previously reported, British Transport Police attended the lines in Claypole just before 7am on Wednesday, November 6 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics attended, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene and officers were working to identify the person and inform their family.

Police have now confirmed that the victim was a man in his 30s.

BTP previously said that the incident is not being treated as suspicious and that officers will prepare a file for the coroner.

It was the second fatality on train tracks near Grantham in as many days.

BTP officers went to Grantham station on Tuesday morning to reports of a casualty on the tracks. It was later confirmed that a man in his 60s had died.
