Tributes paid as teen who died in Pinchbeck house crash named

A teenager who died when a car he was in crashed into a house in Pinchbeck has been named locally.

Members of the shocked local community, friends and family have paid tribute and over £2,900 has been raised towards his funeral.

As previously reported, a black Vauxhall Astra ploughed through a gate and the front garden and into the corner of the property in Northgate, Pinchbeck, just after 8pm on Friday, January 24.

Emergency services were called out to the collision where an 18-year-old passenger died.

He has since been named locally as Jaylee Waltham from Spalding.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

His aunt Lisa Henshaw started a Facebook fundraiser to “help give him the best send off”, which has already raised £2,927 in two days.

On the fundraising page, Lisa said: “My nephew Jaylee Waltham was tragically killed in a car accident on Friday, January 24, 2020.

“We want to give him the best send off as we can. So we are kindly asking his family and friends for any donation possible to help give him the best send off as possible.”

Jaylee’s brother David Morris said: “Thank you so much for all your kind words and donations, so much love all in one place and I know every single one of us are truly grateful for everything everyone has done and is still doing, so from all of our family once again we thank you with all of our hearts. Sweet dreams little bro.”

Spalding Town FC is also fundraising in memory of Jaylee with a football card where people can buy a team to win a prize.

The team said: “Sadly on Friday the managers and players lost a close friend. The least we could do for the family at this time is try and raise some money to give him the greatest send off possible. Please show your support by buying a team from the sports bar or contact our page.”

Jaylee’s friend Liam Neve also paid tribute to him, saying: “RIP Jaylee, gone but never forgotten. Thinking of you and your family. All those good memories of us all at school and before school was a good laugh, but you will be sadly missed my friend.”

Lincolnshire Police previously issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed this collision or saw the vehicle being driven to contact them on 101, quoting incident 422 of January 24. They are also appealing for any dashcam footage of the location around the time of the collision.
