Armed robber targets convenience stores near Gainsborough

A man armed with a Stanley knife attempted to rob two convenience shops near Gainsborough.

Lincolnshire Police have launched an appeal for information and issued a CCTV image in an attempt to identify the culprit.

The incident took place in Morton on Monday, March 23 between 9:30am and 10am.

The offender was wearing a face mask and entered a Co-op store demanding cash while wielding a silver Stanley knife.

After being refused, the offender left the shop and attacked the Premier shop on Crooked Billet, where he was again refused.

The offender left on a white mountain bike, heading in the direction of Ropery Road.

Police have urged anyone with information or evidence to come forward by calling 101.
