Cornhill Exchange Square taking shape ready for opening

When the work is complete the Everyman Cinema, The Botanist and Pho will likely follow suit soon after

Exchange Square in the Cornhill Quarter is finally taking shape ready for the big opening this Spring.

Workers are putting the finishing touches to what is promised to be “one of the most attractive public squares in the city centre.”

The outdoor area is central to the ambitious £70 million Cornhill Quarter project, which started around four years ago back in 2016.

Big names like the Everyman CinemaThe BotanistLakeland, and 200 Degrees have been among exciting additions announced for the area.

Despite the reduction in local independent names, some business owners agree that the area has improved since the revamp began, and a visitor boost is coming.

The people behind the Cornhill Quarter are still looking at a Spring opening date but The Botanist recently revealed a more specific end of May early June opening date.

Most of the paving stones are now in place up to the Waterstones building, with a few stone benches already in place.

When the work is complete, the Everyman Cinema, The Botanist and Pho will likely follow suit.
