It will be the biggest Gregg’s in the city
A huge new Greggs will open in Lincoln by the summer as workers start preparing the former Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop for the move.
When it opens at St Peter at Arches in the first half of 2020, the new bakery will be the largest in the city at 240sqm, over two floors.
The City of Lincoln Council is yet to approve an application for the new signage at the front of the building, but Lincolnshire County Council raised no issue with the plans.
There are four other Greggs bakeries in Lincoln, one at the junction with St Mary’s Street, one in the Bailgate, one at the Brant Road Shopping Centre and a fourth in the A46 Thorpe on the Hill services.
Edinburgh Woollen Mill suddenly closed in December 2018 ahead of schedule and the shop has been vacant ever since.
