Meal delivery service for over 65s to tackle coronavirus isolation

A not-for-profit service to help the elderly

By Local Democracy Reporter

A Lincoln-based catering company will deliver meals directly to the doors of people aged over 65, in an attempt to keep them isolated and safe from contracting the coronavirus.

Salted Orange Food Co are offering three meals a day for just £20 a week with this not-for-profit service, aiming to combat the recent supermarket stockpiling frenzy.

An award-winning catering company in their own right, the team at Salted Orange are turning their attention to helping the community.

The home-cooked meals will be delivered twice a week, and packaged in recyclable containers which are suitable for both heating and freezing.

The service will begin from Wednesday, March 18.

These meal plans can be ordered through email at [email protected] or over the phone by calling 07792 419730.

The sample menu includes lasagna, braised chicken and leek pie, soups, cottage pie with carrots and peas, and roast pork dinner.
