Hooded burglars smash into Skegness clothes shop with sledgehammer

They stole around £5k worth of stock

Two offenders were caught on camera smashing and kicking their way into a clothes shop in Skegness with a sledgehammer, before stealing £5,000 worth of stock.

They gained access to Alisons on the High Street in Skegness at around 2.35am on Monday, March 30. They stole approximately £5,000 worth of Wrangler and Mish Mash jeans and Ellesse t-shirts.

A CCTV video shows one of them pulling out the hammer and smashing the door before the other joins in using his feet. Both then crawl inside the shop through the gap they created.

Lincolnshire Police said an older style silver Ford Focus was used to transport the stolen items.

One of the offenders was in black/dark tracksuit clothing. The other was in a light grey hooded top with black or dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and both offenders had their hoods up.

Police published a CCTV video and images on April 8 and are appealing for information about the burglary.

The force said: “We appreciate the images are not great, but we think someone might know who the two people are with the added information of the vehicle, the CCTV footage and the clothing description.

“We’re certain that someone will also be selling Wrangler or Mish Mash jeans and the Ellesse t-shirts and appeal for anyone who has been offered these items to get in touch.”
