Lincoln Grand Prix cancelled due to COVID-19

Only the second time ever that the race has been cancelled

By Local Democracy Reporter

The 2020 Lincoln Grand Prix, along with all supporting events, has been cancelled this year as a result of coronavirus.

The annual cycling event was initially postponed until August, but it has now been cancelled fully after discussions with British Cycling.

The ongoing situation with COVID-19 meant that the event couldn’t go ahead, with all racing in Britain suspended until September 1.

It will be just the second time in the race’s 65 year history that the event won’t go ahead.

Plans for the 2021 race are yet to be announced.
