Plans for Tesco superstore in Mablethorpe submitted

Plans have been handed over to the council on the £10m development

By Local Democracy Reporter

Plans for a new £10 million Tesco superstore in Mablethorpe have been submitted to East Lindsey District Council.

The 30,000 square foot development, which would be located on a greenfield site off Golf Road in the seaside town, is expected to create up to 250 jobs.

The store will also have a self-service petrol station, recycling centre and another non-food store on the site.

Designs submitted as part of the application

Some 218 car parking spaces are planned to be built, with charging points for electric vehicles.

Planning permission was previously granted for the store as part of a larger masterplan for 180 homes, which have now been built.

It will become the biggest supermarket in the seaside town.

The next step for the store is to now be considered and approved by the planning committee at East Lindsey District Council.
