An investigation has been launched into finding a man in Sleaford who deliberately coughed at police officers.

The incident occurred at about 2.10pm on Wednesday, May 13 and involved a driver in what is thought to be a Ford Transit van.

He then returned to his vehicle and left, with part of the van’s registration plate captured on camera.

Superintendent Paul Timmins, head of the special operations unit at Lincolnshire Police, said: “Attacks on any emergency worker are completely unacceptable, especially so during the current COVID-19 pandemic.”
