Some McDonald’s takeaways re-opening, but not in Lincolnshire

Still no McDonald’s for Lincolnshire yet

By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincolnshire chains have not been included in the McDonald’s first round of takeaway re-openings.

The 15 selected UK restaurants will become available for local customers again on Wednesday, May 13, but only for delivery.

All UK and Ireland McDonald’s stores were closed on Monday, March 23 in response to the growing coronavirus pandemic, and have been closed ever since.

The fast food chain had been exploring ways to cope with social distancing in its restaurants amongst other big companies.

McDonald’s will be introducing perspex screens and floor markings, as well as PPE and contactless thermometers for staff.

It is unclear when the Lincolnshire branches will be part of re-opening plans.

Work will still continue on the new McDonald’s restaurant at Lincoln’s High Street to replace the old HMV.
