Lincoln Cathedral to light up green for St John Ambulance

The cathedral will give thanks to the charity

Lincoln Cathedral will be one of the country’s landmarks to light up green on Wednesday night to celebrate St John’s Day.

June 24 marks St John’s Day, an annual celebration to honour the work of St John Ambulance, and Lincoln Cathedral is leading the support.

It isn’t the first time the cathedral has been a beacon of colourful light to honour services, shining blue for the NHS on the weekly clap for carers as well as for St Barnabas’ Hospice anniversary.

Typically, St John’s Day has gatherings and occasions, but due to COVID-19 this isn’t possible, so alternative ways to mark the occasion have been planned.

As well as lighting the cathedral green, the charity has arranged a virtual afternoon tea session via a Zoom party, with all fundraising donations going to St John Ambulance.

There is also a St John Quiz on Facebook at 7pm.
