Lincoln City Hall to reopen for essential appointments only

A strict appointment-only basis for City Hall

By Local Democracy Reporter

City Hall will reopen for essential appointments only from June 15.

The City of Lincoln Council will be open for limited hours between 10am and 2pm on Monday to Thursday, with a view to extend the hours if demand is high.

Appointments must be made in order to access the building, and they can be booked as by calling 01522 881188.

Social distancing measures will be put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Signs and floor markings will be displayed around the hall, with hand sanitiser available at entrance and staff using PPE and perspex screens.

Jo Crookes, customer services manager at City of Lincoln Council, said: “Following government guidance we made the decision to restrict access to City Hall during the coronavirus pandemic to help contain the virus and reduce the spread.

“Although the response level is still at 4, we have implemented a wide range of measures to protect our staff and the public so we can safely begin to return some of our services at a reduced capacity and with strict social distancing measures.”

Appointments will be staggered and will only be offered once confirmation is made that it will be safe to take place at City Hall.
