Primark to re-open Lincoln High Street store on June 15

Primark preparing for a return

By Local Democracy Reporter

Budget fast fashion retailer Primark is set to open all stores across the UK, including the Lincoln High Street branch, on June 15.

Stores were initially closed over a 12-day period from March 11 as a result of coronavirus lockdown.

But in line with the lockdown relaxation announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, which will see the retail sector return on June 15, Primark is following suit.

This will mean a return to business for Lincoln’s store on the High Street, along with the other 280 stores across England.

In a statement released on June 1, Primark’s owners Associated British Foods said: “As European governments have begun to ease restrictions on clothing retailing we have been able to re-open stores.

“Safety has been our highest priority in our detailed preparations to welcome our customers and employees back to stores. We are following government safety advice in all markets.”

Social distancing guidelines will be put in place, as well as perspex screens at tills, hand sanitiser stations and additional cleaning of “high frequency touch points” in stores.
