Step inside a socially distanced Lincoln Cathedral

New rules and a new look for Lincoln Cathedral

By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincoln Cathedral has shown what social distancing measures have been put in place inside the building.

With the cathedral now open for individual private prayer only, changes have been made to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

The cathedral has made this video to show what has changed:

Hand sanitising stations have been installed around the building, and a contactless donation point has been placed to encourage card over cash.

There will also be a one-way system around the building, with Duty Chaplains available to answer any pastoral needs or questions.

Those in attendance are asked to not touch any surfaces, and to wash their hands in the event of doing so.

The gift shop and toilets will remain closed for the time being, meaning it is just a place for prayer.

Lincoln Cathedral has been a prominent figure during the coronavirus crisis, lighting up blue each week for the NHS clap.
