Man’s body recovered from River Witham in Hykeham

Body of elderly man found in River Witham

The body of a man in his 70s has been recovered from River Witham near Lincoln on Tuesday morning.

Officers attended a report of a body spotted in the river on Fen Lane in North Hykeham at around 10am on Tuesday, July 7.

Five police cars and an ambulance were at the scene, as well as a drone flying near the bank at around midday.

Lincolnshire Police are not treating his death as suspicious and have passed the matter on to the coroner.

The man is yet to be formally identified, but his next of kin are aware of his death.
