NK Community Champion Awards nominations extended

You have until the end of the month to nominate unsung heroes

By Local Democracy Reporter

The deadline to put forward nominees for the NK Community Champion Awards has been extended to the end of July.

The annual awards ceremony aims to say thank you to people within the North Kesteven district for the work they do for their community.

The Lincolnite is one of the sponsors for the event that celebrates hundreds of people who go out of their way to help others.

Anyone living, working or carrying out voluntary endeavours within the area is eligible to be nominated.

A virtual presentation is being anticipated for this year, rather than the usual awards night, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Nominations must be submitted by 12pm on Friday, July 31.

Cllr Richard Wright of North Kesteven District Council said: “We have all faced incredibly difficult times over the last few months, but we have also seen how communities have come together to support each other through this crisis.

“Year-on-year we run these awards as a thank you to all those unsung heroes across the district who day in, day out, all year round help our communities to flourish, and this year it is just as important to celebrate those endeavours.”
