A man from Lincoln has received an award from Deliveroo for his heroic efforts in the community through lockdown.
Chris Wright, 31, has been working as a delivery rider for almost five years, and was awarded a prize at the annual Deliveroo Rider Awards.
Chris not only continued to work throughout lockdown, but he also voluntarily delivered essentials to people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deliveroo called Chris and all the other award winners “heroes in their communities.”
Chris went the extra mile during lockdown, and his efforts were rewarded.
Chris Wright was delighted to be recognised with the award, telling The Lincolnite: “I’m really thankful to those who voted for me and for the award.
“I just wanted to help those in need and I’m in a position where I can do just that. So to me, it was a no brainer.
“In my personal opinion all Deliveroo riders are heroes, so I accept this award on behalf of us all.
“We aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but we work hard every single day to provide a service, come rain or shine.
“So this is for us all, and especially for those who didn’t get recognised for doing what I’ve done.”
