Lincoln City have signed the highly rated duo Callum Morton and Alex Palmer from West Brom on season-long loans.

Both players come from the Premier League side with big reputations after standout performances while on loan in League Two last season.

Striker Callum Morton, 20, won promotion with Northampton Town in the 2019/20 season, scoring eight goals in twelve appearances, including one in the play-off final against Exeter City.

Imps manager Michael Appleton said: “Callum came to the floor during the play-offs and every football fan would have watched him.

“We have a really strong front line now, we are delighted to have him on board.”

Goalkeeper Alex Palmer, 24, also won promotion with his team in the last campaign, guiding Plymouth Argyle to League One with his commanding appearances.

Palmer went on to be voted the best goalkeeper in League Two for his performances in the 2019/20 season.

Appleton said: “Alex is a big guy; he has got a lot in his game which is excellent. He is good with his feet and stands big.

“He could have gone to a lot of different clubs, but we have a good relationship with West Brom.”
