Lincoln SU move ‘outdoor’ cinema event indoors

As tighter lockdown measures were announced

By Local Democracy Reporter

An ‘outdoor’ cinema experience in Lincoln has been moved indoors to the Engine Shed by the Students Union.

The Open Air Cinema event was due to show The Greatest Showman on Wednesday as part of a welcome week for students coming to the University of Lincoln.

It was due to take place in the large space outside the Students Union building, but potential bad weather has forced the move inside.

The SU has said the event will now be inside the Engine Shed due to forecasts of rain throughout Wednesday.

This announcement comes on the same day that Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced tighter lockdown measures amid the rising cases of COVID-19.

Tickets are still available online for groups of up to six people, costing £5 per person.

The film will start at 8pm and curfew for the event is at 11pm, just a day before all pubs, bars and other hospitality venues will be forced to implement a 10pm closing time.
