Lincoln woman celebrates 100th birthday in style

She received a card from the queen

A resident at a care home near Lincoln recently celebrated her 100th birthday wearing a tiara after receiving a card from the queen.

Olive Paul is a resident at Willow Court on Croft Lane in Cherry Willingham, where she celebrated her milestone birthday on August 7.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the party Olive’s family had planned for her couldn’t go ahead, but the care home made sure she still had a birthday to remember.

Olive, who used to work as a home hairdresser and at a plastic factory when she was younger, received a large amount of cards, gifts and flowers.

Olive celebrated her 100th birthday in August.

She wanted to have a crown for her birthday, which one of her granddaughters provided to make her feel extra special.

The homes’ administrator Julie Kulezich, who also runs Cherry Blossom Cake Designs in Horncastle, made a cake for Olive and there was also some Prosecco to mark the big occasion.

She has 17 grand and great-grandchildren.
