Katsu chicken for the win

By Local Democracy Reporter

Deliveroo has now been in Lincoln for four years, and new data shows some of the most popular orders in the city from the service.

Since coming to Lincoln in 2016, Deliveroo has seen more than 70 restaurants sign up to the delivery service.

60% of the restaurant partners are local independents, and the platform has created work for over 130 people.

New data from Deliveroo shows the takeaway habits of people in Lincoln, with Mexican food being the most common order, followed by Italian and Thai.

The top five popular dishes in the area were also shown by the data, but it isn’t Mexican food topping the list.

1st: Chicken Katsu Curry from Wagamama

Wagamama’s Chicken Katsu Curry.

After ranking third last year on the 2019 Deliveroo data, Wagamama’s Chicken Katsu Curry is now Lincoln’s favourite takeaway dish through the platform.

2nd: Regular Haddock and Chips from Burton Road Chippy

Burton Road Chippy

The family owned restaurant recently closed due to COVID-19 ahead of an autumn relocation, but will continue operating as a takeaway service.

Clearly it is popular, as this is the second year in a row a dish from Burton Road Chippy has finished as a runner up in the data.

3rd: Bueno Waffle from Kaspas

Kaspas’ Bueno Waffle.

This is another to climb the list from last year, after recently ranking 4th in Deliveroo’s 2019 Lincoln data.

4th: Boneless Banquet Box Meal from KFC

KFC.

The worldwide fast food brand is also one of Lincoln’s favourites, particularly the Boneless Banquet Box Meal.

The meal contains three chicken breast mini fillets, popcorn chicken, a regular side, dip and drink.

5th: Doughnotts Box of 4 from Doughnotts

The independent doughnut company from Nottingham is a huge hit in Lincoln, with plenty using Deliveroo to order a premium box of four.

The data also showed that Friday evenings were when Deliveroo was used most, specifically at 7:32pm.
