Skate park closed after safety inspection

Boston council fenced it off

By Local Democracy Reporter

A skate park in Boston had to be closed after safety issues were flagged up during an inspection.

The facility at St John’s Park has been fenced off by Boston Borough Council after an inspection by ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) on Monday.

The council stated: “The closure of the area is necessary to protect the safety of users from defects identified in the recent inspection.

“We ask people to not use the equipment and respect the fencing which is protecting park users.”

The park’s closure comes in the same month that a new skate park opened in Boston Central Park.

The brand new £230,000 facility opened at the beginning of September, after delays to the build due to COVID-19.

There is no time scale as to when St John’s skate park will be allowed to reopen again as yet.
