Three charged with human trafficking in Scunthorpe

Romanian trio led prostitution and trafficking ring

By Local Democracy Reporter

Three Romanian men living in Scunthorpe who trafficked women into the country and forced them into prostitution have been charged.

Marius Dinu, 19, and Adi Dinu, 31, both of Axholme Road, and Marian Dimitru, 25, of Buckingham Street, have all been charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Two women, who are believed to have been brought into the country and sexually exploited by the men, have been safeguarded and supported by Humberside Police.

The arrest was part of an investigation with officers from South Yorkshire Police and British Transport Police earlier in the week.

The three appeared before Hull Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, and were remanded to appear at Crown Court on Friday, October 30.
