141 Lincolnshire schools with coronavirus cases this week

A further seven schools have positive cases of coronavirus on Friday.

The county council said on November 27 that it is working with 141 schools with COVID-19 infections.

Barnes Wallis Academy in Tattershall was only removed from the list as a closed case earlier this week, but was re-added again on Friday.

The other six schools added to the county council’s list on Friday are Bishop King Primary School (Lincoln), Wrangle Primary School (Boston), Skegness TEC, The John Harrox Primary School (Spalding), St John the Baptist Primary School (Spalding) and Little Gonerby Infant School (Grantham).

The schools currently listed as closed are Alford Primary School, Holton Le Clay Pre-School, South View Community Primary School (Crowland), Newton on Trent Primary School (Lincoln), John Spendluffe Technology College (Alford), Greenfields Academy (Grantham), and Harlaxton Primary School (Grantham).

St Lawrence School in Horncastle has now been removed from the list as it is no longer an active case with Public Health England.

Andy Fox, consultant in public health, said: “As of this Friday, Lincolnshire’s Health Protection Team is currently working with 141 schools that have had confirmed cases of coronavirus.

“All schools are taking action to limit the potential spread of the virus, with some pupils and staff self-isolating as a precaution where necessary.

“The majority of schools remain fully open, and those affected are working really well to limit both the risk of the virus spreading and the impact on the pupils’ education.”
