Lincolnshire woman arrested as police continue gunshot murder probe

A 29-year-old man died after an incident in Cambridgeshire

A woman in her 60s from Skegness has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender as police continue a murder investigation into the death 29-year-old Mihai Dobre in Cambridgeshire.

Police were called at 12.34am on April 13 to reports of a gunshot being heard in Crabtree, Paston. Officers and paramedics attended the scene and Mihai, of Oundle Road in Peterborough, was taken to hospital.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead at 8.30pm the same day and a post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday, April 19.

Police confirmed today a woman from Skegness was arrested on Thursday, April 14 on suspicion of assisting an offender, but has since been released under investigation.

Murder squad officers made two further arrests during the evening of Monday, April 18.

A man in his 30s from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of murder. A woman in her 20s, also from Peterborough, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and both of them remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

Lewis Hutchinson, 29, of Eastern Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, was arrested in Skegness on Thursday, April 14. He has now been charged with murder and possession of a firearm.

He has been remanded in prison until a hearing at Peterborough Crown Court on May 16.

Cambridgeshire Police said: “This remains an ongoing investigation and we would once again like to reassure the public that such incidents are rare; we would equally like to thank the community for their on-going support.”
