‘Give up and admit defeat’: Councillor slams Home Office after RAF Scampton delay

A councillor has slammed the Home Office for “sheer incompetence” over RAF Scampton, as plans for the first batch of asylum seekers’ arrival were delayed.

The originally-planned date for up to 200 migrants to be brought to RAF Scampton was mid-August. However, it was announced today that the arrival date has been pushed back to October over a lack of building surveys and qualified people to connect the site with gas, water and electricity.
