Home Office continues to plough ahead with RAF Scampton asylum centre works

District council and residents are not impressed

By Local Democracy Reporter

The Home Office still seems to be marching ahead with its plans to transform RAF Scampton into an asylum centre, despite the council issuing a full Stop Notice.

Photos from Monday, September 25, show contractors at the site, working on portacabins in preparation of the first wave of 50 migrants expected to arrive later this month.

Locals have also reported seeing several vans and lorries moving in and out of the site since the Stop Notice was handed out last Friday.
