“Lives more important than furniture”: Fiskerton residents worried after flood evacuation

Storm Babet continues to cause problems across Lincolnshire

A resident in Fiskerton said she is “really worried” after being evacuated from her home on Wednesday afternoon after a 30 metre bank breach of the River Witham in West Lindsey.

Emma Stevenson, 50, has been monitoring the flooding situation near to her home in Fiskerton, east of Lincoln, since the heavy rainfall of Storm Babet began over the weekend, but was greeted by a knock at her door by police officers on Wednesday to say she needed to evacuate her house.
