Lincolnshire animal rescues bracing for impact of XL Bully dog ban

The breed has been source of national debate all year

With just weeks to go before the exemption deadline ahead of a nationwide ban on the XL Bully dog breed, rescues and animal welfare charities in Lincolnshire have reaffirmed their disapproval of the proposed ban, but they are doing all they can to prepare concerned owners for a future without XL Bullies.

The first set of new restrictions on XL Bully dogs are due to be introduced at the end of 2023, with the breed being added to the list of animals banned under the Dangerous Dog Act — following a spate of attacks on humans, a handful of which proved to be fatal.
