“Awful tarmac” patchwork plight at Lincoln Cathedral

Temporary fixes filled with unsightly tarmac at historic city site

Lincolnshire County Council should “defend our history, not destroy it,” Lincoln’s former Mayor said after “awful” temporary tarmac fillings were spotted amongst the cobbles of the city’s crown jewel — Lincoln Cathedral.

The ex-Labour councillor Rosanne Kirk criticised the “terrible decisions” of the county council, saying tarmac fillings in place of damaged cobbles at the picturesque site of Lincoln Cathedral is “a real eyesore for residents and tourists.”
