Teen charged with attempted murder of pregnant ex girlfriend after crashing into North Hykeham house

He is not the father of the unborn child.

A 17-year-old teenager allegedly drove into a house in an attempt to murder his pregnant former girlfriend, a court was told today.

The boy is alleged to have picked up the 17-year-old girl, who was eight weeks pregnant, and taken her for a ride in his Renault Clio.

During the journey, the car crashed into the front of a house leaving both of them trapped inside.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Meadow Lane, North Hykeham, and the boy was arrested.

The boy, who is not the father of the girl’s unborn child, appeared before Lincoln Youth Court this morning charged with attempt murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and damaging property as a result of the incident on December 23 at around 11pm.

Accompanied by his father, he did not enter any pleas to the charges. Neither the boy nor his former girlfriend can be identified because of court orders.

The boy was granted conditional bail and the case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court where he is due to appear on January 25.

The couple who live in the house were attending their daughter’s wedding reception when they received a call telling them of the incident.
