West Lindsey District Council unveils new £3,200 logo

The design changes are “subtle”

West Lindsey District Council has unveiled a new £3,240 logo and branding refresh after 10 years.

Council leader Giles McNeill took to Twitter and said he was “pleased to share” the new logo, thanking external company Ruddocks for their help with the design.

The changes include adding colour to the originally black logo using a combination drawn from the authority’s Civic Crest.

The new logo.

He told social media users the cost equated to around 3.5p per resident and said it was worth it “because it’s not just a logo”.

“It’s a whole load of stuff related to the comms of the council,” he said.

A spokesman explained how West Lindsey had “retained much of the original character” of the older version which “made it a success in the first place.”

“However we have made some subtle changes to the elements in an effort to modernise it and bring it in the current style,” they said.

The old version.

They added that the council “had been conscious about the cost”.

The new logo will be phased into the authorities material and branding over time.

Last year, North Kesteven District Council spent around £5,000 rebranding its own logo – despite a petition being organised to prevent the spend.
