Man jailed for sexual assault on child

He showed “no remorse” throughout the process

By Local Democracy Reporter

A 33-year-old man from Cleethorpes has been jailed for two years after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13.

Michael Taylor, of Fairview Avenue, Cleethorpes was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday and will face two years in prison for the offence that took place in Tattershall in August 2018.

Taylor has also been placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years and given a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.

Investigating Officer DC Sarah Potts of Lincolnshire Police said: “I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of the complainant.

“Taylor’s refusal to admit guilt meant he was put through a full trial. I hope that this conclusion gives her some closure to a harrowing ordeal.

“Taylor clearly thought he could get away with this and showed no remorse throughout the process. I hope it sends a strong message that we will pursue offenders and bring them to justice.”
