Two men who caused the death of a pregnant mother, a drug addict who robbed a man at knife-point, and a man who almost killed his victim in a brutal attack, were among those jailed in Lincolnshire in September.

Andrew Hurns and Lucasz Orywal have both been jailed for three years and nine months for a crash which killed pregnant mum Aneta Zdeb on the A17.
Hurns, 28, of Edgbaston Drive, Retford and Orywal, 32 of Town Street, Lound, near Retford, both admitted causing death by dangerous driving on August 25 2017.
Mrs Zdeb, 26, who was 14 weeks pregnant and sat next to her three-year-old daughter in the rear of the car, suffered traumatic injuries to her liver and heart from the massive impact.
She died just a few hours later after being admitted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

John Alan Smith, 38, of Pilham Lane, Pelham, Lincolnshire, was jailed for 13 years after carrying out a brutal attack which almost killed his victim.
Mr Smith beat his victim Christopher Rawson with a length of wood and kicked him leaving him unconscious.
The victim was then stripped of his clothes and hosed down before being driven back to his home where he was left dying on the sofa.
John’s brother Michael Smith, 34, of Yarborough Court, Barton on Humber, admitted assisting an offender by transporting Mr Rawson back to Gainsborough and he was jailed for two and a half years.
John’s son Leroy Smith, 19, admitted a charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis and was given a 12 month community order with 140 hours of unpaid work.
Michael Bradbury, 30, drove off without helping the three seriously injured riders.
An uninsured driver, Michael Bradbury, 30, has been jailed for 45 months after driving into three cyclists and leaving one fighting for his life when he fell asleep at the wheel.
He drove off without helping the three seriously injured riders despite knowing “he had hit something” on the A15, south of Lincoln.
William Tweddell, 58, was immediately knocked unconscious and remains in hospital a year after suffering multiple injuries in the collision which left him paralysed and wheelchair bound.
Two other riders – Adrian Boswood, 52, from Hertfordshire and Christopher Pratt, 31, from Bourne – were also seriously injured when Bradbury drove straight into the back of their group as they took part in a 600km overnight cycling event.
Thomas Jaffray was jailed for 13 years for dealing drugs after he was caught hare coursing in Lincolnshire.
Thomas Jaffray, 35, from Middlesbrough, was jailed for 13 years and four months after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine, amphetamine and cannabis, and conspiracy to launder the proceeds of crime.
Mr Jaffray was previously convicted of hare coursing in Lincolnshire and has now been jailed after an investigation into a £100 million drug dealing ring.
The investigation was carried out by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NW ROCU) as Jaffray and eight others were jailed for a combined total of more than 100 years at Manchester Crown Court.

Members of a drugs gang who ran £400,000 worth of Class A drugs in various places in the East Midlands, including Skegness, have been jailed.
Shaun Lau served time in prison for previous drug conspiracy offences and he used established contacts to send up to £400,000 worth of heroin and cocaine into Skegness and Newark.
Lau and his organised crime group, based in Nottingham, used a number of ‘safe houses’ in Mapperley, Bulwell and Newark to store large amounts of money and adulterate the high purity drugs.

Former Northamptonshire Police Officer, Jason Farquhar, aged 44, of Stamford has been sentenced to more than two years in jail for pursuing ‘improper’ relationships with vulnerable women.
He admitted the offences at Northampton Crown Court in September and also pleaded guilty to a further charge of misusing Force systems. He has been sentenced to 32 months in prison.

Scott Derek Rudge, 29, of no fixed address was jailed for five years after admitting sexually touching a young boy.
The former child photographer admitted sexually touching a child and making indecent images of children, with the offences occurring over a nine year period.
He was also found to have downloaded almost 50,000 indecent images of children from the internet and he was ordered to register as a Sex Offender for life and made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
A paedophile described as “a devious monster” filmed himself sexually abusing a young girl and then posted the footage on the internet.
Joshua Perreau, 20, of Pitwines Close, Poole, Dorset admitted sexual assault of a child under 13 and was jailed for five years.
He also took indecent photographs of two other young children which he posted via a chat platform and he was caught after police in the USA discovered he was involved in uploading illegal images of children.
A number of the offences were committed when Perreau was staying with a girlfriend in Skegness. Other offences were carried out at times when he was living in Leicestershire.
He was given a two year licence extension and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and given a seven year sexual harm prevention order.
Peter Storr, 62, of Market Rasen Road, Dunholme, near Lincoln, was jailed for nine months after he admitted downloading and distributing indecent images of children.
He pleaded guilty to three charges of making a total of 186 indecent images of children on dates between March 10 2014 and February 23 2017.
He also admitted two charges of distributing a total of 20 indecent images of children between January 10 and February 23 2017.
He was also given a five year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Carlo Benetello, 31, of Monks Road, Lincoln, attacked his mother and step-father after being asked to leave the family home and has been jailed for 12 months.
He admitted two charges of common assault and breach of a restraining order. He also admitted two charges of assaulting a police officer.

Jordan Sutherland, 21, of Princess Street, Lincoln, has been jailed for six years and eight months after terrifying two women, while armed with a knife, and forcing his way into their home.
He was accompanied by a second hooded man, but the second man involved has not been traced.
Mr Sutherland admitted charges of aggravated burglary, criminal damage, assault and threatening behaviour as a result of the incidents on April 4.

Mark Golightly, 40, of Cannon Street, Lincoln was arrested by armed police in Hull after previously waving an imitation handgun at his partner’s former boyfriend.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, possessing an offensive weapon and criminal damage and was jailed for four and a half years.
Simon Welsh forced his way into a property in Skegness.
Simon Welsh, 31, of Monkwood Road, Rawmarsh, South Yorkshire, was jailed for two and a half years after he was confronted inside his victim’s home during a burglary.
He forced his way into the property in Albert Avenue in Skegness while the occupier was at work.

Three young men who carried out a “terrifying robbery” at a South Lincolnshire newsagents after arming themselves with two knives and Halloween masks have each been sentenced to over two years youth custody.
The 17-year-old who carried a knife was sentenced to two years and eight months youth detention.
The other 17-year-old and the 16-year-old were sentenced to two years and four months youth detention. The 17-year-old, who wore a balaclava and hat and manned the door during the robbery, has now been identified after turning 18.
Ryan Hughes-Morris, who was living in Topsgate, Gedney at the time, was not armed during the incident.
