Police continue search for person in Spalding river

Someone saw a shadow of a person

A police diving team is continuing its search of a Spalding river on Friday, which so far has not located a person, after reports of someone entering the water.

As previously reported, police are called to a concern for safety at Cradge Bank in Spalding at 10.50pm on Wednesday, January 9.

It has now emerged that the report to police was of the shadow of a person being seen on the bridge, with the search continuing today (Friday, January 11).

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “An extensive search was carried out by the underwater search unit and foot patrol and we have not located a person.

“It was reported that the shadow of a person was seen on the bridge. We will continue our search today.”
