Thieves smash up shop in ATM raid

They have damaged the shop so badly that the front is said to be unstable

Thieves stole a “quantity of cash” and smashed up a Spar shop in an ATM attack in the early hours of the morning.

Lincolnshire Police were called with reports of a raid at around 3am on Thursday, January 31.

The front of the convenience store on Keeling Street, North Somercotes has been so badly damaged that it is now unstable.

It is not yet known how much money was taken. Photo: BBC/Simon Spark

It is the second shop to be targeted in the town, as previously reported, after a Co-op store ATM was hit in November.

Anyone with information that could assist with police enquiries into the raid on Spar is being urged to call 101, quoting incident 22 of January 31.

People can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org with information about the incident.
