Fifth man arrested after armed police swoop on Ermine

Noises “consistent with gun shots” were heard at a property

Five men have now been arrested and bailed while investigations continue into a firearms incident on the Ermine in Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police first attended after neighbours reported noises “consistent with gun shots” in Scopwick Place at around 9.45pm on Thursday, August 29.

Armed police attended a property on the Ermine on Friday, August 30 at around 7pm and initially arrested three men in connection with the incident.

Now a 28-year-old man, a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old man have all been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A 50-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession with intent to supply a class B drug, cannabis.

Five men have been arrested in total.

Scene guards will remain in place into the morning

Police said that all five men have been released on bail while their investigation continues.

A sixth man, a 39-year-old, also attended the police station voluntarily to help with the investigation.
