Police have released CCTV video of a man they wish to trace as they continue their investigation into the suspected arson attack at a building earmarked for Skegness’ first mosque.
Officers investigating the incident at the Burbidges Site on Roman Bank are keen to trace and speak to a man in a CCTV video, which the force published on Tuesday, November 19.
They believe the man may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Police did not specify whether the man is a suspect or a witness.
Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue previously said that there was severe damage by fire to “100% of the building” and the cause was recorded as deliberate. Lincolnshire Police confirmed nobody was injured and launched an investigation.
Anyone with information, or who recognises the pictured man, should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting 19000533449 or speak to a member of their neighbourhood policing team.
Plans were previously submitted by the Skegness Central Mosque Group to East Lindsey District Council for a community centre, with four-self contained flats above to be built next to the former Methodist chapel on Roman Bank.
Skegness Central Mosque launched a fundraising campaign, which raised over £150,000 – enough to purchase the land.
