First Starbucks drive-thru planned in Scunthorpe

Coffee lovers rejoice!

Coffee lovers in Scunthorpe could be set to get their first Starbucks drive-thru, under plans submitted to North Lincolnshire Council.

Godley Fenix Ltd lodged the plan on behalf of the multi-national coffee chain which would see the store built next to the Energie Fitness gym on Mannaberg Way.

As part of the plan, the store would be built next to the gym along with 18 car parking spaces and two disabled bays.

It would serve local gym-goers, employees from nearby businesses and drivers using the nearby A1077.

The plan would be the first Starbucks drive-thru in Scunthorpe, if approved.

The developer said in its plans that the store would help to meet demand for drive-thru coffee shops in the town.

It said: “Starbucks drive-thru is a proven successful model in locations such as this one with commercial and leisure facilities and a high number of passing visitors.

“The Starbucks brand is also nationally renowned and easily recognised for its high quality product.

“The applicant is keen to bring such a brand to Scunthorpe as its proven success brings confidence that it will be an attribute to the locality in times when diversification and expansion is key for success.”

North Lincolnshire Council will make a decision on the plan at a later date.
