Teen boy released after suspected Alford stabbing

Police are appealing for witnesses

A 14-year-old boy has been released on bail after a 16-year-old male was reportedly stabbed in Alford on Sunday.

As previously reported, Lincolnshire Police were called to Parsons Lane in Alford at 7.25pm on Sunday, March 1 and closed the road at the junction of Hamilton Road and Holywell Road whilst they dealt with the incident.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound, but the serious injury was not believed to be life threatening, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was previously arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody to be questioned. Police confirmed on Tuesday, March 3 that the teenager has been released on bail.

Lincolnshire Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident, or has information, to contact them on 101 quoting incident 371 of March 1.
