Lincolnshire COVID-19 death toll increases to 129

More hospital deaths

Coronavirus deaths in Lincolnshire’s hospitals increased to 129 today (April 22) after a further five fatalities were confirmed.

Two deaths were recorded at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, while three were at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundations Trust hospitals.

All patients in the county who have died have had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson for ULHT said: “Sadly we can confirm that two further patients who were being cared for in our hospitals and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

“The patients were both men aged 69 and 84. Both had underlying health conditions.

“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

It means that the total number of deaths now stands at 129:

  • 85 in Lincolnshire
  • 44 in Northern Lincolnshire

Nationally, NHS England said 665 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

Patients were aged between 26 and 102 years old, 26 of them had no known underlying health condition.
