Lincolnshire nurse gifted bridal visor on cancelled wedding day

Donna was given a ‘veil visor’ at work on the date of her wedding

An NHS nurse from Boston was given a day to remember after her wedding was postponed due to coronavirus.

Donna is a nurse working in Boston fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and was due to be married on May 7.

Lockdown put a halt to those plans, but that didn’t stop Donna’s wedding dress designer surprising her on what was supposed to be her big day.

Sanyukta Shrestha delivered a ‘visor veil’ to Donna along with a handwritten letter to make her day that much more memorable.

The bridal visor is designed to be a typical wedding veil while also having a plastic face visor in honour of Donna’s nursing role.

That’s one way to commemorate the day!

Sanyukta’s team have been making PPE for frontline healthcare workers, but none have quite been like this one.

“The veil has symbolic meaning as well as just being a traditional veil.

“It has wedding values and at the same time is designed to protect the bride who is a nurse.”

In an emotional response to the surprise gift, Donna thanked Sanyukta’s team for their efforts.

“I loved wearing my headdress today, it made the day really special.

“All my colleagues completely spoilt me and the visor veil was the absolute cherry on the cake.”
