Police name murdered woman and man who died in Spalding

She was murdered but he was not, post mortems show

Police have named the man and woman who died in an incident in Spalding last week, with a post mortem indicating that the female victim was murdered, while the man was not.

The bodies of a man and a woman in their 30s were found at a property on Winsover Road in Spalding at 5.32am last Thursday and police later said the unexplained deaths were being investigated as murders.

Police have since named the female victim as 30-year-old Karolina Zinkeviciene of Winsover Road. Police said that the initial post mortem result indicates she was murdered.

The man who died has been named as 34-year-old Breshnev Ruiters of Winsover Road, saying “although further forensics examinations are required, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths”.

Two men, who were found at the property, were initially arrested on suspicion of murder, but were later released with no further action.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “The initial post mortem result indicates Karolina was murdered. Her family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this exceptionally difficult time and we continue to support them.

“Breshnev Ruiters also died in this incident and although further forensic examinations are required, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths.

“We will be making no further comment until the conclusion of inquests for both of these people.”
