Second man wanted over Louth axe robbery

A second suspect in the axe robbery case

Police are looking for a second man involved in an axe robbery at Newmarket in Louth.

On Sunday, May 31, a man attempted to rob the Premier Express store in Newmarket, Louth while wielding an axe, before leaving empty-handed in a red Fiat Punto.

Gary Cartwright, 44, of Northgate, was arrested and charged after police investigations, but police are now looking for a second suspect.

40 year-old Steven Derek Lea is wanted by police in connection to the attempted robbery, as he is suspected to be the other man in the car that fled the scene.
